CELEBRATING SOURDOUGH w/ Mary De Angelo

This is WellsviewCare's Spring Saturday's Series. Meet Mary, Rebecca and other practitioners at the Center each Saturday in Spring 2025! This event is on Saturday, April 26th at 10:30AM - Co-Led by Rebecca Staple (Nutrition Specialist) and Special Guest Speaker Mary De Angelo (Sourdough Baker). Together teaching of the gifts of Sourdough! For this class Wellsview welcomes guest presenter Mary De Angelo (In her words: "Grieving Mom turned Crazy Sourdough Lady!" ) Suffice it to say she knows a lot about family traditions, baking and especially about working with SOURDOUGH. Mary De Angelo will introduce us to her "Starter" and we will meet the brew she affectionately called "BETSY!" Rebecca Staple, Nutrition Specialist, will guide and educate us about the nutritional gifts of sourdough. The value of the fermentation process and nutritional benefits for such recipes and backing strategies. We will learn about the importance of grains in nutrition and how our body/mind/spirits truly benefit with home-baked delicacies made with sourdough with "starter." This class brings hands-on experience in baking with sourdough, together with the latest nutritional guidance and wisdom for ideal human health, digestion, and overall wellbeing. We will learn hands-on practices, ways to work with the dough, and taste some of the various creations and recipes that Mary has been honing and creating in her so-called "Grief Baking" -- that is gradually leading her through other emotions too including greater Joy and Gratitude. In the hour and a half workshop, we will get started on our journeys with the health benefits and blessings of sourdough breads and other baked goods. Nothing to bring.
