INTRODUCTION TO MINDFULNESS

What is mindfulness? What is meditation? Awareness of our senses, our thoughts, our emotions, and our relationships to our experience are the core pillars of mindfulness. Cultivating and working with this awareness is a skill that can be developed through intentional practice. We will learn the foundations of mindfulness and practices to create greater awareness in our daily lives. Each Session will be an in-person (safe) gathering in Wellsview’s Studio. Each session will consist of a brief talk, followed by a meditation and time for questions and discussion. Wellsview is pleased to welcome Jon Vander Vliet to the Center. Jonathan has been practicing meditation and various forms of mindfulness for many years. He cultivates quiet in his active life and has studied with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. This series is a "donation-based" series. Please plan to join us for all four sessions, each starting at 7:30PM Wednesday evenings in May. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Suggested donation is $40 for the four week series. ($10/person/per gathering) Jon requests an intention of attending as many sessions as possible, since this is not considered a "drop-in" group. There's no need to bring a mat or anything, and of course, if you prefer you can. We will meet in a circle of comfortable chairs. Looking forward to seeing you in the circle.
