Mindfulness & Meditation... This is a practice group for taking time to practice stillness and listening. Awareness of our senses, our thoughts, our emotions, and our relationships to our experiences are the core pillars of mindfulness. Cultivating and working with this awareness is a skill that can be developed through dedicated time. We will practice the foundations of mindfulness and still-listening to create greater awareness in our daily lives. Each Session will be an in-person gathering in Wellsview’s Studio. Each session will consist of a brief talk, followed by a guided meditation, quiet sitting; followed by time for questions and discussion. Drop in and tend yourself in this practice. We are pleased to welcome various Wellsview practitioners at the Center as our circle Leaders. Each is experienced and fully trained in different forms of meditation and mindfulness. Some have ben sitting since the 1980's... Some have practiced with the Insight Community in Washington DC, varioius Ayurvedic groups in Virginia, and some have learned with great leaders including, Thich Nhat Hanh, Tilden Edwards, and other teachers including Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. This ongoing series is a "donation-based" gathering, with each gathering starting at 7:30PM on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings of each month - Beginning March 2024. Suggested donation is $15/person/per gathering. (No payment is required - join us.) We hope you will join us for as many sessions as possible so the circle is complete! There is no need to bring a mat or anything, and of course, if you prefer you can. We will meet in a circle of comfortable chairs. Looking forward to seeing you in the circle for meditation.
